Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 9, 2026

This page is maintained by the Halo team to answer common privacy questions about the Halo app. It describes what we collect, why, and the controls that are actually enabled today.

1. What we collect

When you use Halo we collect:

  • Account data — the email address you sign up with and an encrypted password hash.
  • Subscription data you enter — service name, price, billing cycle, category, renewal date, status, and usage counts.
  • Basic usage logs — standard request logs (timestamps, IP address, browser) used to keep the service running.

We do not connect to your bank, read your card statements, or import charges automatically. Everything you see in Halo is what you entered yourself.

2. How we use it

  • To sign you in and keep your session active.
  • To show your subscriptions, totals, renewal calendar, trial countdowns, and cost-per-use analysis back to you.
  • To keep the app secure and debug issues.

We do not sell your data. We do not run ads. We do not build a profile of you to share with third parties.

3. Where your data lives

Your account and subscriptions are stored in our managed database. Row-level security is enabled so that only your authenticated session can read or modify your own rows.

4. Third-party services

We use a small number of vendors to run Halo:

  • Our managed database and authentication provider (stores your account and subscription rows).
  • Our hosting provider (serves the app and edge functions).

These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

5. Cookies

We use a single first-party session cookie / local-storage token to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.

6. Your rights

You can, at any time:

  • Edit or delete any subscription from your dashboard.
  • Sign out from any device.
  • Request full deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing privacy@halo.app.

7. Data retention

We keep your account and subscription data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your subscriptions immediately and purge backups within 30 days.

8. Children

Halo is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where reasonable, notify you by email.
